Photography

The history and nature of photography suggest that its primary purpose is documentation. However, it is a means of cataloguing, documenting and preserving, as well as a form of expression. In this sense, it is a form of creative description and interpretation guided by a specific, sometimes unstated, intention. Photography involves a direct gaze that appears (and is partly) spontaneous, yet is always influenced by an interpretive approach. This lends itself very effectively to urban exploration and intentional description.

In these pages, I have listed some didactic works and a number of image series taken during research projects.
