Zetti, Iacopo (2021). La città con l’esse davanti. Michelucci, De Carlo, Rodari: spunti per una fantasia disubbidiente. CRIOS, vol. 21, pp. 4-17.
This text brings together three great intellectuals who share ideas on the theme of the city as a field of social forces. This intellectual affinity provides the basis for an argument on three points, which seem to highlight the cultural positions of the respective authors particularly strongly. The first point concerns the variability of the city and the role of chaos in learning processes, as well as the role of the project and the designer of cities or stories. This anticipates studies on complexity applied to the urban environment. The second point refers to the concept of an open city or a word for everyone. This idea is based on the notion that intellectual work is not about personal genius, but about representing a collective desire. The third looks at didacticism not as the transmission of codified knowledge, but as a means of liberating the imagination, or, to use Rodari’s words, the fantastic.
